Since 1957, Poltronova has loved to amaze with its out-of-the-ordinary design, establishing itself among the most revolutionary and important companies in the furniture sector from the 1960s to the present day. Founded by Sergio Cammilli in Agliana, Tuscany, it immediately stood out for its originality and its extraordinary team of designers: from great masters such as Ettore Sottsass who was art director, Gae Aulenti, Paolo Portoghesi, Giovanni Michelucci, Angelo Mangiarotti, Archizoom, Superstudio and De Pas–D'Urbino–Lomazzi to the protagonists of “New Design” who were then called radicals. Among the most famous products, the Joe armchair and the Superonda Poltronova modular sofa are considered works of art in the world of design, true icons to be enjoyed in domestic environments and beyond. The Poltronova Study Center was founded in 2005, with the aim of building an archive of important documents relating to the historic Poltronova brand and at the same time continuing to edit its most famous products.
